In combination with select Engine Control Systems emission control solutions, the Closed Crankcase Ventilation System elevates the level of exhaust emission reduction by eliminating crankcase emissions.

Combifilter typeKDiesel Oxidation Catalyst
A Diesel Oxidation Catalyst or "DOC" is a device which utilizes a chemical process in order to break down pollutants from diesel engines in the exhaust stream, turning them into less harmful components. They are normally a honeycomb shaped configuration coated in a catalyst designed to trigger a chemical reaction to reduce particulate matter.

Diesel Particulate Filter
A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter (DPM) or soot, from the exhaust of diesel engines. Diesel particulate filters can remove roughly 85% of the soot found in diesel emissions and can at times, depending on the filter and other equipment it is paired with can attain 100% soot removal efficiencies.

Exhaust Accessories
CombiClean™ is an economical, safe and environmentally friendly technology developed to clean your diesel filters, whether it is a passive filter, or active, cordierite or silicon carbide filter.

The Back Pressure Monitor and Logger provides onboard information to the vehicle or stationary user, providing the operator notification of required maintenance of the emission control system. It also logs information for diagnostic purposes to hasten maintenance and reduce downtime.

Construction
Diesel engine exhaust emissions from construction sites can present unique problems due to their high concentration in a small vicinity. This is true for the workers on site, but also for those adjacent to the site. Exposure to diesel exhaust may affect worker health and safety and performance. Proper implementation of controlled measures can help address this problem without compromising efficiency. Most importantly, guaranteed emission reductions are fast becoming an essential component of state and municipal funded contracts.

Mining
Mining vehicles operating underground in poorly ventilated areas, running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week present particularly challenging and important environmental concerns. If untreated, the diesel exhaust being emitted from these vehicles is inhaled by the operators before dissipating. Increased exposure to diesel exhaust is a factor in heart and lung disease and a possible carcinogen affecting your workers’ health, safety and productivity.

Material Handling
TermiNOx™ converts any open-loop LPG or CNG fueled off-road engine into a state of the art, digitally programmable, closed-loop, 3-way controlled engine that simultaneously reduces CO, HC, and NOx emissions by an impressive and verified 85-90+%*.

A 2-Way Purimuffler integrates a catalytic converter, muffler and venturi to effectively reduce carbon monoxide (CO), and odor causing hydrocarbon (HC) from LPG, CNG or gasoline powered industrial equipment. Smaller industrial engines <25hp or built prior to 2004 may be operating without a closed loop 3-way control system such as TermiNOx.

Municiple Fleets
Diesel engine exhaust emissions from these fleets are universally present in our communities. This is true for the workers and the population as a whole. Exposure to diesel exhaust may affect worker health and safety and performance. Proper implementation of controlled measures can help address this problem without compromising efficiency. Most importantly, guaranteed emission reductions are fast becoming an essential component of state/provincial and municipal funded contracts.

Verifications:

CARB Verifications
Given the wide range of engine families within the fleet, the multitude of applications, and the various emission control systems possible, it was necessary that ARB establish a multi-level verification process for the retrofit program. There are three verification levels for PM emission control strategies and only systems expected to reduce PM emissions by at least 25%, or to achieve PM levels of 0.01 g/bhp-hr will be considered for ARB's verification approval. Although not a requirement at this time if a diesel emission control strategy also reduces NOx emissions by at least 15%, this will be included in the verification.
